The Association of Transport Coordinating Officers (ATCO) is an organisation that brings together transport professionals from the local government sector to: share best practise for transport rail across the UK, assimilate and network.
ATCO run a yearly conference where local authorities from across the UK come together to discuss a subject matter regarding the transport. There was a previous event the prior year that was ran in Manchester by internal ATCO team members.
This year they wanted to go bigger and better having a flagship event regarding ‘stations fit for the future’. They wanted to get even more interest in the event, have a higher quality venue and more high profile speakers.
They engaged BusinessAdapts to support.
We had 100 people in attendance to the conference, whilst the previous year was 60. The venue was the National College for High Speed Rail, a perfect location for such a relevant rail event. We had all high profile speakers in attendance at the conference which attracted funding from Mace, West Midlands Railway and Steer Davies Gleave.
We had some exceptionally positive feedback with a few attendees saying “this is the best conference I have ever attended”.
The team at BusinessAdapts in Birmingham, played a crucial role in support of helping to organise what turned out to be a very successful National Rail Conference in Birmingham in June 2018. They not only sourced a great location, but worked tirelessly to promote the event in a very professional way.
In particular, special thanks are owed to the innovative approach to using social media to generate additional interest. The team at BusinessAdapts also deserve credit for helping with the smooth running of the event on the day, which helped turn a good conference into a great conference.Stephen Pauling - Chair of the Rail Executive
